What is Sea of Conquest: Pirate War?

Sea of Conquest: Pirate War is a free-to-play pirate strategy game from FunPlus. You play a Captain in the Devil's Sea: you build up your cabin, assemble a fleet, customize a Flagship and recruit a crew of heroes. The official site describes real-time naval battles, plundering resources, upgrading ships and treasure hunts in uncharted waters.

Fights cover sea monsters, navies and rival pirates. You can seize ports, sentry towers and strategic passages, and in the recurring Showdown o'Gangs event, alliances compete for rewards. The store text lists Hero Trials and Rogue's Rumble as ways to build power, and the weekly Pirate Revel event pays out for food and drink orders.

The game came to Google Play on January 2, 2024. Updates in 2026 added the Behemoth Trial, a Connoisseur System, extra Hero slots on Flagships, a redesigned Power Score screen and crossover Heroes. Version 1.1.810, released on October 22, 2026, runs the game's anniversary events.

Is Sea of Conquest free to play?

Yes. The App Store and Google Play list Sea of Conquest as free with in-app purchases, and the official site offers free downloads for Android, iOS and Windows, plus an APK. The site also shows a gift code for new players.

Emeralds are what the app stores sell. As of October 30, 2026, the US App Store's top in-app purchases are Emerald packs, from 100 Emeralds at $0.99 and 1,000 at $9.99 up to 10,000 at $99.99. Google Play shows a range of $0.99 to $199.99 per item.

Free progress in the official descriptions comes from expeditions, treasure hunts and events: the store text mentions gold, pearls and rare materials found at sea, and the latest update notes say the anniversary events give plenty of rewards. FunPlus's probability page also lists guarantees on hero recruitment: at least one Epic Hero in every 10 recruits, and a Legendary Hero within 80 recruits on limited banners and within 100 on general banners.

Is Sea of Conquest pay to win? What money buys

The App Store description states that the game includes in-game purchases, including random items, and Google Play's rating notes In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items). The top App Store purchases are Emerald packs; the official pages checked for this review do not list a VIP program, monthly card or pass prices.

FunPlus publishes a probability page for the game in Korean, linked from the official site's footer. It lists rates for limited and general hero recruitment, accessory banners, a wish gift box, Blade Bounty and the Wheel of Fortune. On a limited banner, each featured Legendary Hero has a 1.52% overall rate (1.34% before guarantees), and each featured Epic Hero 8.97%. Wheel of Fortune rewards range from 30-minute construction speedups to a Flagship skin at 0.2%.

Heroes deploy on Flagships, and a 2026 update redesigned the Power Score screen to show what each category adds. That power is used in naval battles against rival pirates and in alliance events such as Showdown o'Gangs.

Based on what the official stores sell, we rate it as strongly pay to win; we will check this again when we play it ourselves.

Sea of Conquest on PC, Mac and mobile

The official site, seaofconquest.com, offers a Windows PC launcher from FunPlus next to its Google Play, App Store and APK downloads. The game is not on Steam or the Epic Games Store, and Google Play does not list Windows as a device for it, so the official launcher is the PC route.

On Macs, the App Store makes the iPad app available on Apple silicon: it needs macOS 12.0 or later and an M1 chip or newer, but Apple marks it as designed for iPad and not verified for macOS. The official site offers no separate Mac client.

On phones and tablets, the game is on the App Store and Google Play, and the App Store build also supports Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 1.0 or later. FunPlus lists no console version. Support runs through in-game Customer Service and email, and the official site also links a FunPlus web store and top-up page for the game.

Sea of Conquest system requirements

FunPlus does not publish PC requirements for its Windows launcher on the official site, and the game has no Steam page with a requirements list.

On Apple devices, the App Store version needs iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later, and the download is 933.7 MB. On a Mac, it needs macOS 12.0 or later and an Apple M1 chip or later, with the caveat that Apple has not verified it for macOS. The Apple Vision Pro build needs visionOS 1.0 or later.

The Google Play listing does not state a minimum Android version on its web page, so check compatibility in the Play Store on your device before installing. The APK on the official site is an alternative for Android devices without Google Play, and Google Play Games on PC is not an option because the listing does not include Windows.
