What is Lords Mobile?

Lords Mobile: Kingdom Wars is a free-to-play strategy MMO from IGG. In the store descriptions, you upgrade buildings, research, train troops and level Heroes to grow a Kingdom, then fight other players for territory. There are four troop types and six formations with a counter system, and you build a team of five Heroes for an RPG-style campaign; the same Heroes lead your armies. Hero backgrounds range from dwarves and mermaids to dark elves and steampunk robots.

Multiplayer runs through guilds: Guild Wars, Kingdom versus Kingdom battles, Wonder Wars, Darknest Invasions and the Guild Expedition, a guild-versus-guild battleground where troops are not lost. Version 2.177 in October 2025 added the Army Colosseum, a PvP mode without real troop losses.

The game reached the US App Store on March 31, 2016. Version 2.208, released on October 21, 2026, added Heroic Saga quests for Rank 8 Heroes whose Battle Spirit is awakened.

Is Lords Mobile free to play?

Yes. Steam and the Epic Games Store list Lords Mobile as free, and the App Store and Google Play list it as free with in-app purchases. The store descriptions add that the game needs an internet connection.

Gems are the paid currency, and IGG's official drop-rate tables show Gems among the rewards of many chests and event spins too. Troops are not lost in the Guild Expedition or in Army Colosseum battles, per IGG's store text and update notes. IGG's PC page also shows a gift code that it says is available to all players.

As as of October 30, 2026, the US App Store's top in-app purchases are small Gem combos and specials from $0.99 to $4.99, such as the 140 Gem Combo at $0.99, the 280 Gem Combo at $1.99 and the 800 Gem Combo at $4.99. Google Play shows a range of $0.99 to $299.99 per item.

Is Lords Mobile pay to win? What money buys

The App Store description lists IGG's subscriptions, which renew automatically unless turned off. As as of October 30, 2026: Familiar Support at $9.99 a month; Turf Club at $9.99 a month, with +25% research speed, construction speed and player EXP plus auto-completed Admin and Guild Quests; Mirage Realm at $4.99 a month, with unlimited Lunite Cavern and resource tile gathering and auto hunting; a 7-Day Dash Bundle at $1.99 a week with Artifact Coins, speed-ups and resources; and a 7-Day Familiar Bundle at $2.99 a week.

IGG's official drop-rate page covers 80 chests, spins and events. They range from Jewel and Material Chests to Mall Chests such as the Sack of Jewels and the Chest of Hasty Coaching, which holds training speed-ups, and Lucky Hero Chests whose rewards are listed by Hero. Apple lists Loot Boxes for the game.

These Heroes, Jewels and boosts are used in Kingdom versus Kingdom battles, Guild Wars and the Army Colosseum.

Based on what the official stores sell, we rate it as strongly pay to win; we will check this again when we play it ourselves.
