Project Entropy review

This Project Entropy review is based on official sources and player reviews, not on our own play time. FunPlus's free-to-play sci-fi strategy game has been on the US App Store since December 2023 and on Steam since April 2024. You lead heroes, tanks, aircraft and mechs against the alien Grod and rival alliances on a shared, seasonal region map. Money buys R.C coins, a Battlepass, a Subscription Perks item and passes that include a Legendary Hero.

What is Project Entropy?

Project Entropy is a free-to-play sci-fi strategy game from FunPlus International AG. The official site calls it a strategy RTS game with mechs, the stores list it under Strategy and Role-Playing, and Steam adds MMO. It has been on the US App Store since December 6, 2023, and on Steam since April 16, 2024.

You build a base and command heroes, tanks, aircraft and combat mechs. The store text describes recruiting alien species and war heroes, upgrading weapons and vehicles, and fighting the Grod, a hostile alien species, across planets and a shared region map. Real-time battles against other alliances decide who controls territory and resources.

Play runs in seasons. FunPlus's early update notes describe seasons that reset part of each player's possessions, a landing zone chosen at the start of each season, alliances taking cities guarded by Grod Behemoths, joint Behemoth hunts and an arena. Those notes, from December 2022, are still the newest posts in the official site's news section.

Is Project Entropy free to play?

Yes. The App Store, Google Play and Steam list Project Entropy as free, and the official site offers a free Windows launcher and an Android APK. It is online only, and players are grouped on numbered servers; FunPlus's early notes show servers being merged at the start of a new season.

The same notes list free rewards for new players: a seven-day plan that unlocks the legendary hero Lindsay Wells through daily missions, seven days of login rewards, a legendary weapon for reaching a Power target, and Coins and Regular Drop Pods from alliance events. Defeating Grod swarms and Behemoths on the region map earns reputation, and defeating other alliances' troops earns Achievements to spend in the Achievement Store.

These notes come from before the US store launch, so current events may differ. Real-money purchases are optional and are covered in the next section.

Is Project Entropy pay to win? What money buys

PvP is central to the game: alliances fight each other in real time for territory on the region map, and Steam lists online PvP.

On the US App Store, purchases as of October 30, 2026, include R.C coins from $0.99 to $99.99, a $2.99 Bag of Gold, a $29.99 Battlepass and a $9.99 item called Subscription Perks; the listing does not say whether that item renews. On the official site, the text for the paid Strategic Supply Contract says unlocking it gets you a Legendary Hero, and the monthly card text promises a set total of Coins.

Both stores flag paid random items: the App Store shows a Loot Boxes notice, and Google Play lists In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items). FunPlus's early notes describe Star Chips, a currency that cannot be earned in events, buying drop pods at the Trade Center, and duplicate heroes and weapons feeding a Talent system. No official odds page is available.

Based on what the official stores sell, we rate it as strongly pay to win; we will check this again when we play it ourselves.

Project Entropy on PC, Steam and mobile

On Windows, you can install Project Entropy through FunPlus's official PC launcher from projectentropygame.com or through Steam, where it is free, Windows-only and lists cross-platform multiplayer. The official FAQ explains how to log in on PC with a character created on a phone by binding a FunPlus, Facebook or Google account, and the site says the PC version supports a multi-instance mode with up to three characters at once.

On mobile, it is on the US App Store, where it needs iOS 15.0 or later and takes 2.9 GB, and on Google Play, which shows an update on October 29, 2026. The official site also links an Android APK.

There is no Mac or console version on the official site or on Steam. The App Store app reached version 1.50.0 on October 30, 2026, with interface and text fixes, while the official site's news section has not changed since December 2022.

Project Entropy system requirements

Steam lists modest PC requirements.

Minimum: 64-bit Windows 7 SP1 or later, an Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 or AMD Athlon x64 4000+ (about 2.2 GHz), 4 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or Radeon HD 4400 or better, DirectX 10, a broadband internet connection and 8 GB of available storage.

Recommended: Steam's recommended tier only says the game needs a 64-bit processor and operating system and names no specific parts. The official launcher's download link comes with no separate requirements, but the official FAQ has a section for PC-only issues such as hot keys and multi-instance mode.

On mobile, the US App Store requires iOS 15.0 or iPadOS 15.0 or later and lists a 2.9 GB size. The US Google Play page does not state a minimum Android version.
