Updated · research review: official sources and player reviews, not our own play time
This Watcher of Realms review is based on official sources and player reviews, not on our own play time. Moonton's fantasy RPG combines hero collection with tower-defense battles, and in the US Skystone Games publishes it as Watcher of Realms - US. It is free on iOS, Android and, through Skystone's launcher, Windows. As of October 30, 2026, US App Store bundles cost $2.99 to $99.99, Apple lists loot boxes, and the same heroes fight in Arena, Honor's Gauntlet and Guild War.

What is Watcher of Realms?
Watcher of Realms is a fantasy hero-collection RPG developed by Moonton, the developer of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. In the US it runs as a separate edition, Watcher of Realms - US, which Skystone Games publishes on Moonton's behalf, according to Skystone's terms of service. The US App Store version was released on March 31, 2025; Moonton's global version, which the US App Store does not carry, dates to July 2023.
The game is set on the continent of Tya. You collect heroes from 10 factions: Google Play's US listing counts more than 250, while the App Store text still says 170-plus. Rare Lord Heroes have Lord Skills that buff their whole faction. Battles borrow from tower defense. Moonton's 2023 announcement tells players to position heroes across each stage to stop advancing monsters, and the store text adds timed ultimates, area and magic damage and healing spells. Since June 2026, background auto-fight runs at up to 6x speed.
PvE modes include the Campaign, Faction Trials, Tower of Deception, Void Rift, Immortal Codex, Guild Boss and gear raids. Version 1.6.46.841.1, released on October 27, 2026, added the first beta season of Gadrien's Tales and a new mode, The Bone Diaries.
Is Watcher of Realms free to play?
Yes. Watcher of Realms - US is free to download on the App Store and Google Play, and both list in-app purchases. Google Play does not mark it as containing ads. The Windows launcher is a free download from Skystone's site.
Skystone's terms say some parts of the game are free while others may require a fee, that paid items are bought through the App Store, Google Play or other authorized channels, and that sales are final unless the law requires a refund. The terms also let Skystone delete accounts that stay inactive for more than six months, and the currency and items in them are forfeited. Players must be at least 13.
The App Store version notes list rewards you earn by playing: more Apex Coin rewards in the Arena (June 2025), Unpolished Legendary Soulstone Shard drops in Drake's Chasm (October 2025), higher Arena rewards (April 2026) and an auto explore feature that claims Void Rift rewards with one tap (August 2026).
Is Watcher of Realms pay to win? What money buys
As of October 30, 2026, the US App Store lists ten in-app purchases, all named by price: bundles at $2.99, $4.99, $9.99, $14.99, $19.99, $24.99, $29.99, $39.99, $49.99 and $99.99. Google Play shows $0.99 to $99.99 per item. Neither store says what the bundles contain. Apple's listing carries a Loot Boxes notice, and Google Play's rating adds In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items), so at least some paid items are random.
Heroes are the core of the game. The store text says you collect and upgrade them and strengthen them with gear, artifacts and skill dust, and the October 2026 update added a Hero Aspect Shop. The same heroes fight other players in the Arena, Honor's Gauntlet and Guild War.
We could not locate an official web page with summon odds for the US edition or for Moonton's global version, and the store listings show no battle pass, VIP plan or subscription. Free sources named in the App Store notes include Arena Apex Coins and Unpolished Legendary Soulstone Shard drops from Drake's Chasm.
Based on what the official stores sell, we rate it as strongly pay to win; we will check this again when we play it ourselves.
Watcher of Realms PvP: Arena, Honor's Gauntlet and Guild War
The store text promises an original tower defense PvP mode with multiple PvP themes and player rankings. Three PvP modes appear in official material.
Arena: Moonton's April 2023 announcement describes a PvP Arena where players fight others and climb a leaderboard toward the title of Arena Overlord. The US edition added an Arena Practice Mode for testing lineups on March 31, 2026 and raised Arena rewards in April 2026.
Honor's Gauntlet: a real-time PvP mode that version 1.5.06 added to the US edition on May 7, 2025, according to the App Store version history.
Guild War: guilds attack and defend fortresses in two-week seasons. Moonton's October 2023 announcement says members garrison hero teams for defense and attack with Demon Soldiers, units used only in Guild War. Each season has three matchmaking rounds against different guilds, and the final ranking decides the rewards. Guild War was revamped with Season 11 in October 2025, so some of these details may have changed. In the US edition, a league system arrived with Season 12 in December 2025, Season 15 opened in July 2026 and a new season began in September 2026.
Watcher of Realms on PC, Mac and mobile
On Windows, the official route is Skystone's own launcher. Skystone's US site shows Watcher of Realms-US with three download buttons, for the App Store, Google Play and Windows, and the Windows button links to a launcher installer hosted on Skystone's servers. Skystone links no Steam or Epic Games Store page, Steam's store search returns no match, and Google Play does not offer the Android version through Google Play Games on PC. The site does not say whether a mobile account carries over to the Windows client.
There is no official Mac option. The App Store's compatibility list covers iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple Vision but not Mac, and there is no macOS download. There are no console versions.
On mobile, the US edition needs iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later, or Android 8.0 and up. It is a separate app from Moonton's global Watcher of Realms, which is not in the US App Store, and Skystone's site links only the US edition.
Watcher of Realms system requirements
Skystone publishes no hardware requirements for its Windows launcher, and its download page lists none. For now, the only official specs are the mobile store requirements.
On Apple devices, the App Store listing requires iOS 15.0 or later on iPhone and iPod touch, iPadOS 15.0 or later on iPad and visionOS 1.0 or later on Apple Vision, and it lists a 391.1 MB download. The Google Play listing asks for Android 8.0 and up.
The App Store shows six versions between May 26 and October 27, 2026, so the listed size describes the current build only.
The App Store lists nine languages: English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Spanish. The store text says more languages are in the works.
