What is Tiles Survive?
Tiles Survive! is a free survival strategy game from FunPlus, released on the US App Store on July 3, 2025. FunPlus's game page casts you alongside Sarge, a former Army Special Forces officer whose survivors build a new stronghold under threat from a zombie horde, while the store text frames it as a trek through a harsh wilderness. You expand across map tiles, gather food, wood, metal and gas, assign survivors to jobs such as hunter, chef or lumberjack, and keep a power plant running to speed up production.
Heroes lead marches of trained units, and FunPlus says they are central to all PvE events and PvP. Players are grouped into States, with Alliances, Seasons such as Awakening of Dragons and Rising Legend, and frequent events. Version notes from 2026 add Pets that boost all Heroes, Faction Enhancement talents, Chief Collections and a Wall of Honor for 10-star heroes.
FunPlus marked the game's first anniversary in 2026 and says it passed 20 million downloads. Its October 30, 2026 Developer Feedback post says a Nuclear Age that extends building levels past Power Plant level 30 and a new X-SSR hero, Alita, are in development.
Is Tiles Survive free to play?
Yes. The App Store and Google Play list Tiles Survive! as free with in-app purchases, and the official site's Windows launcher is a free download.
The patch notes name several free sources of progress. The September 3, 2026 update significantly raised the free healing capacity of Hospitals above level 13. Event rewards include 20-hour universal Speedups in Solo Progress Rewards during the battle phase of Arcadian Conquest and State Clash, and Doomsday Express trucks can carry Legendary Hero Fragment Random Crates in States where a Season has started. A mid-2026 update doubled the healing Speedups in Reservoir Raid Solo Milestone Rewards, and the Hall of Glory lets Chiefs unlock Commander Mastery bonuses.
Gifting is built in as well. Chiefs can send gifts, including Weekly and Monthly Passes, to Alliance members or friends, and cross-State and anonymous gifting arrived in September 2026. FunPlus's probability page shows that recruitment returns Hero EXP, resources and one-hour Speedups alongside heroes and hero fragments.
Is Tiles Survive pay to win? What money buys
As of October 30, 2026, the US App Store lists ten in-app purchases named Special Package and Package, priced from $0.99 to $99.99, without listing their contents. Patch notes also mention Weekly and Monthly Passes, a VIP Store where Gems buy Arena Challenge Tickets, value bundles for the Raise Your Dragon feature and exclusive event packs for Operation Ricochet. The Monthly Pass, for example, triples the Hospital's free daily heal limit. Speedups for construction, research, training and healing run through the economy, and the official site links a FunPlus top-up store.
Recruitment is random, and FunPlus publishes the odds on an English page. In Advanced Recruitment, an SSR Hero has a 1.5% base rate, or 2.448% overall with pity, and 60 attempts guarantee one; Targeted Drafts guarantee an SSR Hero after 30. The page also covers gear reforging, the Lucky Wheel and the Future Tycoon event.
Heroes, troops, Pets and gear all add to the Power used in PvP: the Arena and 3v3 Arena, Alliance Duel raids on other players' Settlements, State Clash, Arcadian Conquest, Burrow Conquest and Reservoir Raid.
Based on what the official stores sell, we rate it as strongly pay to win; we will check this again when we play it ourselves.
Tiles Survive on PC, Mac and mobile
On Windows, the official site at tilesurvivegame.com offers a PC launcher, an installer named Tiles.Survive.PC.V1.0.exe hosted on FunPlus's download servers. The site does not explain how the PC version handles accounts, and there is no Steam or Epic Games Store listing.
On Mac, the App Store lists the iPhone and iPad app as compatible with Macs that have an Apple M1 chip or later and macOS 12.0 or newer, and with Apple Vision. There is no separate macOS download.
On phones, Tiles Survive! is available in the US. The official site links the US App Store listing and Google Play, and the US App Store page is live with version 2.6.300 from October 22, 2026. FunPlus International AG is the seller on both stores. The site also links a FunPlus web top-up store for purchases outside the apps. There are no console versions.
Tiles Survive system requirements
FunPlus does not publish hardware requirements for the Windows launcher on the official site, so there is no official PC minimum or recommended spec.
On Apple devices, the App Store listing for version 2.6.300 requires iOS 15.0 or later on iPhone and iPod touch, iPadOS 15.0 or later on iPad, macOS 12.0 or later on a Mac with an Apple M1 chip or newer, and visionOS 1.0 or later on Apple Vision. The download is about 1 GB. The App Store lists 20 languages, among them English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Korean.
Patch notes show the team still tuning for different hardware: version 2.6.300 improved UI compatibility on some foldable devices, and the October 30 Developer Feedback post says World Map updates during large battles are being optimized. New versions land about every two weeks, so download sizes change often.
