What is Arknights: Endfield?
Arknights: Endfield is a 3D real-time RPG with strategic elements, published by GRYPHLINE and developed by Hypergryph, according to the official site and the Steam page. You play the Endministrator of Endfield Industries on the planet Talos-II. The Steam description names four pillars: exploring Talos-II, meeting and recruiting operators, building automated production lines in the AIC Factory, and fighting with a party whose skills can be chained in real time.
The game launched worldwide on January 22, 2026, on all platforms at once, after a technical test in January 2024 and beta tests in 2025. Content arrives in named versions; the current one, Sanctuary of Ink, went live on October 15, 2026.
Operators come in 4-star, 5-star and 6-star rarities. New 6-star operators arrive through limited-time Chartered Headhunting banners. Steam lists the game as single-player, while the ESRB notes that users interact.
Is Arknights: Endfield free to play?
Yes. The game is free to download on every platform. Steam lists it as free to play, and the App Store and Google Play listings are free with in-app purchases. Apple's listing adds that some purchases include random items.
Free players earn Oroberyl, the currency spent on headhunting, along with headhunting permits, through events and missions. Examples from official notices: a seven-day sign-in event that gives five banner permits, an operator trial that pays 100 Oroberyl, a set of Wuling missions worth 1,200 Oroberyl, and up to 180 Oroberyl for following the official social media accounts. Each seasonal Protocol Pass also starts with a free Basic Supply tier whose rewards include Basic HH Permits and Oroberyl.
The paid currency is Origeometry. As of October 29, 2026, the US App Store lists Origeometry packs from $1.99 to $69.99. An official patch note says the game can use Origeometry automatically when you run short of Oroberyl.
Is Arknights: Endfield pay to win? What money buys
Here is what is for sale and what the official rules say, without a verdict yet.
Operators come from Headhunting, a gacha. GRYPHLINE's Korean-language probability page lists a 0.8% base rate for a 6-star operator, 8% for 5-star and 91.2% for 4-star. After 65 pulls without a 6-star, each pull adds 5 percentage points, and pull 80 guarantees one; that counter carries over between Chartered banners. A 6-star result is the featured operator 50% of the time, and each Chartered banner guarantees its featured operator once within the first 120 pulls.
Weapons come from Arsenal Issues, paid with Arsenal Tickets that every operator pull also awards. Each issue gives 10 random weapons with at least one 5-star or better.
As of October 29, 2026, the US App Store also lists a Monthly Pass at $4.99, the Protocol Customized pass tier at $9.99, a Value Arsenal Ticket Pack at $13.99 and a Protocol Flow Bundle at $29.99.
Based on what the official stores sell, we rate it as mildly pay to win; we will check this again when we play it ourselves.
Arknights: Endfield on PC, Mac, consoles and mobile
On PC, Arknights: Endfield runs on Windows through the official launcher, Steam and the Epic Games Store. The Steam version is downloaded and updated only through Steam, not the GRYPHLINK launcher. The game is also on PlayStation 5, iOS and Android. There is no native Mac version; the publisher says the game is on GeForce NOW, whose client and browser versions run on Windows PC, Mac and Chromebook.
Progress follows your Gryphline account. Official notices say saves sync across platforms and purchases made on one platform can be used on the others. There are two servers, Asia and Americas/Europe, and character data cannot be shared between them, so pick the server you plan to stay on.
On mobile, the official minimum is an iPhone XS or an iPad with an A12 chip on iOS 15, or Android 10 with a Snapdragon 855-class chip and 6 GB of RAM. Both mobile versions need 25 GB of free space; the PS5 version needs 60 GB.
Arknights: Endfield system requirements
The official requirements and the Steam page agree on the hardware. Minimum: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit), an Intel Core i5-9400F or equivalent, 16 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or equivalent. Recommended: an Intel Core i7-10700K or better, 16 GB of RAM or more and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or better with current drivers. DirectX 11.1 or later is required.
Storage is where the sources differ. The official pre-download notice asks for 50 GB of free space plus another 40 GB while files are extracted, and recommends installing on an SSD. Steam lists 60 GB. Going by the official figures, plan for about 90 GB of free space during installation.
A broadband internet connection is required. Steam lists partial controller support, including the PlayStation DualSense controller.
